I remember the years that they had linedancing, the hot air balloon and big rides down at the ball park, the basketball tournaments at the school, watching the fireman put up the stage on monday night, and just how much fun me and my friends would have running around town for three days straight with something to do for a change!

All of the lawn chairs being piled behind the library. The cakewalk...I never won!

I love the home-town feeling you get on Thursday when watching the Parade wheel down First Street. Then on Friday night, sitting in the coveted spot on the Library lawn you chose the week before by laying out your chair... to watch great entertainment like "Spike and the Bulldogs" and "The Wright Brothers" to name a few. All while enjoying a Quarters worth of fresh popped popcorn and a deep-fried Lions tenderloin (makes me feel the need to get my BP checked at the Medic 6 booth). Just a few of the memories I have and looking forward to many more in the coming years...

I remember how the streets were lined with a huge number of people on Thursday night for the parade. Also, how many people showed up to watch the bed race.

My memories are of the first Popcorn Festival in 1973 when working for I&M Electric Company and how we did a lot of the electrical work by installing distribution panels for the Vendors.
